The
south - western Peak District is a landscape of contrasts, rugged
heather moorlands of dark gritstone to the westand the Staffordshire
Moorlands of limestone to the east. The most popular of the distictive
steep - sided dales is Dovedale, one of countless easy rambles
together with the Churnet valley, Rudyard Lake and Tittesworth.
Leek is best known as a silk town, whilst the charming villages
of Alstonefield, Wetton, Longnor and Hartington are waiting to
be explored. |
